Inyati Foundation is working to strengthen rural livelihoods across Mozambique through practical, livestock‑focused development. All projects listed below have been fully designed and approved in multiple districts, and are ready to begin as soon as financing is secured.

Each district faces unique challenges, but all share a common need: stronger herds, better genetics, improved infrastructure, and sustainable pathways out of poverty.

Cattle Replenishment Programs

Status: Approved — Awaiting Financing
Duration: 5 years

These programs aim to help rural families rebuild their herds by introducing carefully selected breeding females into communities that have experienced decades of herd decline.

The initiative focuses on:

Strengthening household resilience
Increasing local beef supply
Supporting long‑term food security
Creating pathways toward semi‑commercial farming

Each district receives a tailored allocation based on its cattle deficit and community needs.

Herd Improvement Programs

Status: Approved — Awaiting Financing
Duration: 1 year

These programs address one of the most serious challenges facing rural cattle farmers: inbreeding.

By introducing high‑quality breeding bulls from resilient, well‑adapted breeds, the program helps farmers:

Improve herd fertility
Increase growth rates
Strengthen disease resistance
Produce higher‑value animals

The initiative includes farmer training and ongoing support to ensure long‑term genetic improvement.

Community Livestock Farms

Status: Approved — Awaiting Financing
Duration: 4–5 months per farm

These projects establish community livestock farms in each locality. Each farm includes:

Secure perimeter fencing
Rotational grazing camps
Water reticulation systems
Corrals and handling facilities
Training and mentorship for local farmers

The goal is to create safe, well‑managed, water‑secure grazing environments that support healthier herds and more sustainable farming practices.

Understanding breeding cycles and herd planning

These sessions have been well‑received, with farmers expressing appreciation for training that is practical, respectful, and tailored to local realities.

Product Training

We have also worked with a leading animal health company to provide additional training sessions for local farmers. The team has delivered practical demonstrations on the correct use of their veterinary products, helping farmers improve:

Parasite control

Basic disease prevention
Safe and effective product application

Ensuring farmers receive trusted, science‑based guidance while gaining confidence in tools that directly improve herd health.
